Chef Mika

The highlight of many people's stay at Coconuts is the fabulous food! We are extremely fortunate to have our good friend and partner Mike Pirics (Mika in the local lingo) here to serve as our culinary genius. After owning and running several very popular restaurants in Hawaii, Mika decided to retreat with us to this new paradise, and our palates have been grateful ever since. Many travel guides and magazines have called Mika's restaurant the best in Samoa, if not the whole South Pacific, and the raves from our guests are non-stop (just check out the Nut Letters page of this site for some of the letters and emails we've received). You can peruse our menus below, and be sure to check out our Meal Deal meal plan, a great value which includes unlimited glasses of beer and house wine, picnic lunches, and much more!

Coconuts Restaurant

Even though this spot is open to the public, the resort (and restaurant) is so far off the beaten track you'll generally find only other hotel guests dining there. It's a secret that can't last forever because the food is superb and even if you're staying in Apia on the other side of the island, Coconuts is well worth the cab ride over. The décor is open-air South Seas style under a thatched roof fale. The food is excellent and consistent (a major accomplishment at any restaurant). We tried almost everything on the menu during our stay, and could find fault with nothing. You will not be disappointed nor will you leave hungry. Dinner with drinks, desserts and coffee for two: $32
