| Talofa! Thinking about coming to Coconuts?
We sure hope so! Here are a few things that previous guests
have suggested I tell you about. Please let me know if you have
some other suggestions to make.

There is only one airport now on Upolu, Faleolo International Airport, which
is 25 miles, or approximately a 45-minute drive, from Coconuts. It is also 35 minutes from Apia, so we're really not that much further away than everyone else (though our spot on the south coast is a lot nicer!). The
small airport in the town of Apia was called Fagali'i International
Airport and used to service flights from Savaii and small planes flying to American
Samoa but it was shut down several years ago.
Although many of the older people in the villages do not speak very
much English, most people in the town of Apia and most young Samoans
everywhere do speak English. The English language is taught in the
schools and is considered a second National language - and the official
language of commerce. Most of our 100 employees at Coconuts also speak
English, so don't worry if you don't speak Samoan.
At Coconuts (but not generally throughout the island) we have both
110 Volt and 240 Volt power available in all of the guest rooms, together
with the standard outlets that are found in The United states and
New Zealand. We also have a variety of electrical adapters available
in the Gift Shop for our guests from other countries.
Pack light for your stay. It is not necessary to bring hairdryers,
as they are available in all of the rooms. Same for umbrellas
- in the odd chance that you need one. Cell phones will probably not
work at the resort, so why bring one? Dress is really casual, even
at dinner. But, if you like to dress-up for dinner, then go ahead
- have fun! Do bring an old pair of shoes, reef booties or Teva's for reef walking - it is
OK to do it in certain places in front of our resort - and a small
flashlight. They could both come in handy.

All of the water at Coconuts is purified. When we say ALL, we
mean ALL. That includes the restaurant, public bathrooms, pool shower,
and all of the rooms. And, in all of the sinks, bath tubs, showers,
ice-cubes, and even the toilets!
We look forward to seeing you in Paradise!
